The Parks Trust websites

The Parks Trust is a charity which looks after over 6,000 acres of green space in Milton Keynes. Their websites are a key source for information about their parks, events and learning resources.

Mentor Digital worked with The Parks Trust to rebuild their websites in Umbraco 13, ensuring the new iteration of their websites were easy to navigate, mobile friendly and showcased the beautiful parks in a modern way. We delivered:

  • 3 websites hosted within a single Umbraco 13 implementation, including the main The Parks Trust website and their primary park, Willen Lake
  • Integration with event booking provider to automatically pull through listings
  • Map integration to allow users to digitally explore parks
  • Designed and rolled out contemporary branding for the Willen Lake website

The Parks Trust, Willen Lake and Campbell Wharf Marina websites benefitted from Mentor’s tried and tested starter kit components, customised to showcase the best of The Parks Trust family. Each website has been created by mixing and matching the same Umbraco components, using theming to showcase the different vibrant brands. These themes also vary across the navigation, banners and footers of the websites, with seamless integration of individual events and activity booking systems for each website.

Having three websites under one Umbraco instance meant a phased go live approach was the best solution, especially to minimise the disruption over their busiest summer period. Mentor Digital worked closely with The Parks Trust team to ensure a smooth and timely development, testing and content loading process.

We are over the moon with the result, the new websites make it easier than ever for people to discover and enjoy Milton Keynes’ beautiful green spaces.

Willen Lake branding

The Parks Trust approached Mentor to develop the brand identity for their main park, Willen Lake, ensuring alignment with the website design and timeline.

Mentor collaborated with the Willen Lake team to develop the brand personality, tone of voice and preferred visual elements that enhance the user experience and really bring the brand to life.
